Last week, the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) industry gathered in full force at ITAD 2025, hosted at the iconic Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas and what a week it was. With over 1500 attendees and 130+ exhibitors, the event proved to be a cornerstone for the leaders in ITAD, reverse logistics, and sustainable returns management.
Whether you’re a veteran in IT lifecycle services or an IT manager seeking to offload enterprise assets responsibly, ITAD 2025 was the place to be. Triage Partners is becoming a leader in ITAD solutions and returns management, and we were proud to be part of the conversation.
A Hub for Buyers, Sellers and IT Managers
The exhibit floor was buzzing with energy from day one. If you were looking to responsibly recycle, resell, or refurbish used IT assets, this was your chance to meet buyers face to face. And let me tell you, there were plenty! My inbox on the event app was flooded with messages from potential buyers and it was clear that the demand for high-quality used IT equipment isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
Keynote Highlight: The Ten Commandments of ITAD
While my schedule was packed with meetings (the sign of a great event), I made time for the opening keynote titled “The Ten Commandments of ITAD”. It really resonated with me. Here are a few takeaways:
- The Customer is Your God – Maybe not my or your God, but putting their needs first? Absolutely, essential in any business.
- You Can’t Get to the Top Alone – Relationships matter. Even Apple teamed up with Microsoft.
- Speak Well of Your Company – If you can’t, maybe its time to reevaluate where you work.
- Own Your Time – Burnout is real. Balance is critical.
- Mentorship Matters – You’re never too experience to learn something new. Surround yourself with smart people
- Lift up the Industry – Raise standards together and push the space forward. That goes for any industry.
- Leadership is a Noun – Get involved and understand your team’s day-to-day and lead with humility.
- Build on Trust – Customers remember how you made them feel. Values matter.
- Free Doesn’t Scale – I though this was interesting. It might attract interest, but it’s not a viable long-term strategy for anyone.
- Own your Sandbox – Be the best at what you do before chasing the next big thing.
Themes That Carried Through the Conference
What struck me most was how much of the keynote echoed throughout the rest of the event. From sessions on industry collaboration and standardization “Strengthening or Partnership Network – How to Identify Partners that will Support Your Values, While Maximizing Your Revenue” to Bob Lafon’s inspiring talk “Developing Future Leaders Through Mentorship”. Bob’s session hit on an important message, as seasoned professionals, we have a responsibility to cultivate the next generation. Whether it’s sharing our knowledge or simply being available to listen, it all matters.
Final Thoughts
ITAD 2025 wasn’t just another industry conference, it was a reminder of why we do what we do and why we love it. It was a place to find buyers, connect with peers, exchange ideas and a commitment to building a sustainable future for IT assets. If the conference was any indicator, the future for ITAD is coming full speed and full of opportunities. Here’s to carrying those “Ten Commandments” as we chase them.
